Nevada County experiences a higher than average out-of-county migration after high school graduation or attendance at Sierra College. Students who leave the county to attend 4-year institutions typically stay in those areas or other more densely populated regions as they begin their careers and their own businesses.
The Nevada County Economic Resource Council (ERC) and the Nevada County New Business Network (NCNBN) recognize that the Gold Country’s true wealth is its youth.
NCNBN seeks to attract and retain young professionals and entrepreneurs between the ages of 20-40, especially former Nevada Union, Bear River and Truckee High School graduates, who have or are interested in started a business.
